Imperato calls for Constitutional Amendment Daniel Imperato Comments on Roe v. Wade and Calls for Constitutional Amendment
West Palm Beach, FL – (i1connect News) - On the 35th anniversary of the historic landmark decision, 2008 Independent Presidential Candidate Daniel Imperato commented on Roe v. Wade and its lasting impact.
“35 years ago the Supreme Court ruled in Roe v. Wade that women have the right to end the lives of their unborn children. This was a truly sad moment in American history. At that moment, we destroyed the sanctity of life and the constitution,” said Imperato.
Roe v. Wade was a major victory for abortion activists who had been looking to make a case for a national abortion standard and take away sovereignty from the states.
Since 1973, over 48 million children have lost their lives because of this politically motivated legal decision.
“While originally a state issue, I believe because of Roe v. Wade and its lasting effect nothing short of a constitutional amendment to protect the lives of the unborn will suffice. We must make it clear that no one has the right to murder an innocent human being, and that life begins at conception,” stated Imperato.
While the influence of Roe v. Wade has been controlled with key legislation as the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, the effects of the case are felt today.
Even Norma McCorvey (Jane Roe) has become a member of the pro-life movement in 1995; she now supports making abortion illegal.
“Norma McCorvey was a woman who was raped, abused, and in terrible pain. The Abortion Activists found her and used her to promote their agenda. What they didn’t tell her is that women would now use abortion as a form of birth control. What they didn’t say is that women who have had six and seven abortions would thank her everyday for giving them that ability. What they didn’t say was that she was being used to support an agenda that she did not understand and did not support,” said Imperato.
Imperato concluded his remarks with a call for action.
“Abortion is not just an issue for Values Voters. It is an issue for American Voters. We must protect the sanctity of life. Without life, we have no fundamental basis for our rights. It is time for action, and if no one else will stand up, I will defend the unborn and lead the march all the way to the White House.”
